Motlatji Mjamba (Ditodi) is an actor, theatre director, and acting teacher. Her professional theatre acting credits include Arthur Miller’s The Crucible, Moliere’s The Miser (a role for which she received a Naledi Theatre Award nomination for ‘Best Breakthrough Performance’), and Mike van Graan’s Another One’s Bread. Television credits include Kota Life Crisis (SATFA Nomination for ‘Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy’), Soap on a Rope, and SABC 3’s flagship tv series High Rollers, among others.
In 2013, she was awarded the Arts and Culture Trust’s ‘ImpACT Award for Theatre’ for her body of work up till that point. Since then, she has added numerous theatre productions under her directing belt: The Boy Who Walked Into The World (Soweto Theatre and National Arts Student Festival), Chomi (Artscape Theatre’s New Voices Festival), and Nongogo (AFDA Cape Town).
She has sat on various Theatre Award judging panels including CATA (Cape Amateur Theatre Awards), National Arts Festival Ovation Panel as well as the Cape Town Fringe Festival Fresh Award Panel.
She has taught at various institutions including the University of Johannesburg Arts Centre, AFDA (Johannesburg and Cape Town campuses), and City Varsity Cape Town. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Theatre and Performance at the University of Cape Town.
